The Baths, British Virgin Islands

The Baths are probably the most well known part of Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands. The area is a truly unique type of national park on the southwest coast of the island. Like most of the Caribbean beaches, this stretch offers startlingly white sandy beaches, but, unlike other Caribbean beaches, these sands are framed and dotted by gigantic boulders of granite. With diameters sometimes reaching 40 feet, these monoliths form amazing caves and grottoes for the intrepid to explore. Possibly volcanic in origin, these boulders are amongst the most popular destinations in the world, not surprisingly, and offer hours of fascinating occupation.
