Keeping Fit in the Caribbean

Keeping Fit in the Caribbean

If you like to keep fit what better place to do it than on a beautiful beach against a back drop of gorgeously green hills where you can cool off in crystal blue seas or sparkling pools with magnificent views? Do you want a vacation where you actually return home fitter rather than those where you have to spend extra hours at the gym to work off the lazy days, good food and cocktails? Operators to the Caribbean will advertise fitness vacations but this can have varying meanings so check the offering before booking. Some will define fitness as being physical activities and energetic exercise whereas others will be offering Spa holidays where the fitness aspect usually refers to external fitness and a healthy state of mind and the only exercise is pilates, yoga and swimming.

You should also note that keeping fit and doing sport has different strokes for different folks; you’ll find diving and snorkelling on most of the islands in the Caribbean, a great many resorts and hotels will have tennis courts and there are a multitude of golf courses for all standard of player.
