The 25th Anniversary of the Taste of Cayman is set to return to its roots.
The Taste of Cayman Food and Wine Festival celebrate its 25th Anniversary to be held on Saturday 26th January 2013. A milestone that the Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA), intend to recognize and celebrate.
Alongside the festival’s silver jubilee, Taste of Cayman is set to take place at Camana Bay’s Festival Green. CITA’s Executive Director Jane van der Bol “We’re excited to see Taste of Cayman return to a field for the commemoration of the festivals 25th Anniversary. We know it all began in a field and this is a great way to pay homage to the events grass roots beginnings.” There are a number of hotels on Grand Cayman offering promo rates during this time.
Taste of Cayman began in the late eighties with a small number of restaurants from the Cayman Islands Restaurant Association. The event has now grown to what it is today, with over 45 restaurant and distributors participating in an open air event that comprises of an attendance more than 4,000 people.
Taste of Cayman is now one of the largest events in the Cayman Islands and Camana Bay’s Festival Green perfectly accommodates the events growing number of restaurant booths, volunteers and attendees.
The 25th Anniversary of Taste of Cayman intends to focus particularly on Cayman culture, heritage and cuisine. The ‘All Things Cayman’ feature area will be a focal point of the festival and will be both appetizing and entertaining.
